Would Sukhbir Badal take moral responsibility and surrender before police ?

CHANDIGARH: The Moga Orbit bus incident in which a minor girl had lost life is a big moral test for Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, the owner of the Orbit Aviations Private Limited. The gorry incident has shaked the conscience of people nation wide but Sukhbir Badal is trying to escape the responsibility and influencing the police investigation. Would he take the moral responsbility for the murder of a dalit girl by his staff and surrender before the police ?

What happened in Orbit Bus on April 29 last is not an accident but a deliberate attempt to rape the minor girl and henious crime against women. The staff of Orbit company molested the 13 year old girl and misbehaved with her mother. When they opposed the offenders, they were thrown out of the bus, killing the girl Arshdeep Kaur on the spot and mother Shinder Kaur getting seriously injured. The crime rate in Punjab is on the rise and reports of misbehaviour by the staff of private bus operators including Orbit bus service is a routine matter. The Orbit buses move with goons on board. It is more shameful that now Punjab police has also provided escort to Orbit buses to ply on its routes.

The reports said that Sukhbir Badal was using all legal and illegal means to pressurise family of the victim to make a compromise. Senior police officers instead of taking action against the culprits is busy in putting pressure on family. A deal was made with the grand father of the victim girl to pay a compensation of Rs.20 lakhs to the family and job to the surviving brother of the girl. The father of the girl however took abold decision and turned down the offer and disowned the compromise. He told media he wanted a case against Sukhbir Badal be registrered.

The the Ober taxi service case of Delhi the owners of company were booked though the rape of a woman passenger was did by the driver. The why no case be registered against Sukhbir Badal? If the owner of Orbit Bus service are spared, it would become a precedent for all private transporters to escape the responsibility. The Police would have no right to book owners of transport company if any such incident happened in future.

In the begining Harsimrat Kaur Union Minister and wife of Sukhbir Badal was not even ready to accept that bus belonged to her family. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had half heartedly accepted that unfortunately bus belonged to them. Sukhbir has only expressed deep anguish on the incident.

It is evident that family of Arshadeep Kaur is under pressure from police and SAD leaders of the area. An efforts is being made to make the compromise on the lines as Fastway cables(another compoany owned by Sukhbir had made with the family of Amritsar based cable oeprator Jaswinder Singh Jassi who comitted suicide in presence of judges of High Court and Supreme Court. The wife of deceased cable oeprator turned hostile and went underground to apve way for release of key accused Sarabjit Singh Raju and others.

As Captain Amarinder Singh has post a question to Sukhbir Badal that why accused in all crimes are in some way related to SAD, it is pertinent to ask Sukhbir Badal had he spared the owners of another bus company involved in such a crime against women? And if Sukhbir is failing in his moral duty, would his father recipient of Padam Shri award come forward to fulfill his constitutional duties as Chief Minister ?
