Panjab University Bachao Morcha gives call for gherao of BJP offices in Punjab on Dec 3

CHANDIGARH: The Panjab University Bachao Morcha has decided to intensify agitation against the center government and gave a call to gherao the offices of BJP all over the state and in Chandigarh. 

The protest at the university campus was going on for the last 25 days, demanding immediate election of senate and restoration of syndicate. The center government had earlier issued a notification scrapping the senate and syndicate. The decision however was taken back after student organisations and political parties opposed the move. However no new dates for the senate election were announced. 

The students have also given call to farmer organisations and social and political bodies to support the December 3 call. The university remained closed today after students call for strike. 

Though Punjab BJP leaders have given assurance that notification for the fresh senate elections will be announced soon but center government had not taken any decision.
