African Students Meet 2026 Celebrated with Grandeur at Gian Jyoti Institute

MOHALI: Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology, Phase 2, hosted the grand Annual African Students Meet 2026 in its auditorium, celebrating cultural diversity, global friendship, and academic collaboration. The event beautifully reflected the strong ties between India and Africa and showcased the warmth and unity among international students.


The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing unity and wisdom. The event was graced by Balunywa Baker, Education Attach├® at the Uganda High Commission, as Chief Guest. Conrad Nana Kojo Asiedu, First Secretary (Trade, Tourism & Culture) at the Ghana High Commission, attended as Guest of Honour.


African students captivated the audience with a vibrant cultural ramp walk in traditional attire. Energetic group dances, soulful solo singing performances, and poetry recitations offered a glimpse into Africa's rich cultural heritage. Friendly sports competitions among students further added excitement and strengthened team spirit. Winners were honoured with medals in recognition of their sporting excellence.


Addressing the gathering, Director Dr. Aneet Bedi said that the campus thrives on the confluence of diverse cultures and meaningful dialogue. He emphasized that such meets celebrate shared traditions, mutual respect, and friendships that contribute to building a truly global learning environment.
